Habit tracker template.
The tracker is easy. Surviving week three is the product.

Every habit tracker looks the same on day one and most are abandoned by day twenty. These templates bake in the rules that change that: three habits max, cues attached to existing routines, a two-minute fallback for bad days, and the never-miss-twice rule. Copy the format that fits how you track.

The weekly habit tracker

The classic grid, capped at three habits on purpose. The rules underneath the grid are the actual system; the checkboxes just keep score.

Habit tracker: week of [Date]

[Habit 3] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]

Rules:
- Max 3 habits while building. Add a 4th only after 4 clean weeks
- A missed day gets a dash, not a hole. Never miss twice in a row
- Each habit has a WHEN, not just a what: "[habit] after [anchor]"

Week review:
- Best day and why: [.]
- The habit that's struggling, and what makes it easier next week: [.]

The monthly single-habit tracker

One habit, one month, one table. Best for the habit that matters most right now. The month-end keep-adjust-drop decision is what turns tracking into learning instead of accounting.

The Google Sheets version

Two minutes of setup buys you streak counts and completion percentages. The instructions below are the whole build; no template file needed.

Google Sheets habit tracker (2 minutes to build):

1. Row 1: write your habits across columns B, C, D
2. Column A: dates for the month (type the 1st, drag the corner down)
3. Tick cells with checkboxes: select the grid, Insert > Checkbox
4. Streak counter in row 35, under each habit:
   =COUNTIF(B2:B32, TRUE)
5. Completion rate:
   =COUNTIF(B2:B32, TRUE)/COUNTA($A$2:$A$32)
   (format as percent)
6. Optional heat: Format > Conditional formatting > color scale
on the tally row, so strong habits glow green

That's the whole tracker. If maintaining the sheet becomes its own
chore, that's the signal to move habits onto your calendar instead.

The calendar is the strongest tracker

A checkbox records the past; a calendar defends the future. The habits that stick are the ones with a standing appointment: a recurring 20-minute block that meetings have to schedule around, not a wish waiting for leftover energy. In Amie a habit is just a recurring block with a todo attached: it has a when by default, moving it is dragging, and your streak is visible as your actual week. Start from the time blocking template if you want habits and deep work planned together.
