Setup

Enabling Menu Bar

  1. Open Amie desktop app
  2. Go to Settings → Desktop
  3. Enable Menu Bar Calendar
  4. Amie icon appears in your menu bar

Calendar Selection

Choose which calendars appear:

  1. Click the menu bar icon
  2. Open menu bar settings
  3. Toggle calendars on/off per account
  4. Only selected calendars show events

Using Menu Bar Calendar

Viewing Events

  1. Click the Amie icon in menu bar
  2. See today's schedule
  3. Scroll to see more days
  4. Click an event for details

Joining Meetings

When a meeting has a video link:

  1. Click the menu bar icon
  2. Find your meeting
  3. Click Join button
  4. Video app opens automatically

Quick Actions

From the menu bar you can:

  • View event details
  • Join video calls
  • Open the full Amie app
  • Access quick settings

Customization

Calendar Visibility

Show only relevant calendars:

  1. Open menu bar dropdown
  2. Click settings gear
  3. Toggle calendars per account
  4. Changes apply immediately

Event Types

Configure what appears:

Menu bar icon stays accessible across:

  • Main display
  • External monitors
  • Full-screen apps (when menu bar visible)

Troubleshooting

Icon Not Appearing

  1. Check Menu Bar Calendar is enabled in Settings
  2. Look for icon overflow (click >> in menu bar)
  3. Restart Amie if needed

Events Not Updating

  1. Check calendar sync status
  2. Click refresh in menu bar dropdown
  3. Verify calendars are selected

Join Button Missing

  • Verify the event has a video link
  • Check link is in location or description
  • Supported: Zoom, Google Meet, Teams

Privacy

  • Menu bar shows event titles
  • Consider privacy in shared spaces
  • Hide sensitive calendars if needed
