Zoom Integration

Join meetings directly and create Zoom links from Amie.

Overview

The Zoom integration lets you create Zoom meeting links directly from Amie and join meetings with one click.

Setup

To connect your Zoom account:

  1. Open Settings → Connections
  2. Find Zoom and click Connect
  3. Sign in to your Zoom account
  4. Authorize Amie to access Zoom

Once connected, you can add Zoom links to any event.

Creating Zoom Meetings

When Creating an Event

  1. Create a new event in Amie
  2. Click the video conferencing button
  3. Select Zoom
  4. A Zoom link is automatically generated and added

For Existing Events

  1. Open an existing event
  2. Click Add video conferencing
  3. Choose Zoom
  4. Save the event

Joining Meetings

When you have a Zoom meeting scheduled:

  1. Click on the event in your calendar
  2. Click the Join button
  3. Zoom opens and connects you to the meeting

Or use the keyboard shortcut ⌘+Shift+J to join your next upcoming call.

Auto-Detection

Amie automatically recognizes Zoom links anywhere in your events:

  • In the location field
  • In the description
  • In custom fields

The Join button appears for any event with a detected Zoom URL.

Recording with Amie

Amie's desktop app can record Zoom meetings without a bot:

  1. Join your Zoom meeting
  2. Click Record in Amie's meeting panel
  3. Amie captures your system audio locally
  4. After the meeting, audio is transcribed via AI
  5. Get summaries and action items automatically

Note: Bot-free recording requires the desktop app (macOS or Windows).

Account Requirements

The Zoom integration works with:

  • ✓ Free Zoom accounts
  • ✓ Pro Zoom accounts
  • ✓ Business/Enterprise accounts

No special Zoom plan is required.

Disconnecting

To disconnect Zoom from Amie:

  1. Visit the Zoom App Marketplace
  2. Go to Manage → Installed Apps
  3. Find Amie and click Uninstall

You can also disconnect from Settings → Connections in Amie.

Troubleshooting

Zoom Link Not Generating

  • Verify your Zoom account is connected in Settings
  • Check that you have permission to create meetings
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting

Can't Join Meeting

  • Ensure Zoom is installed on your device
  • Check that the meeting link is valid
  • Verify you're signed into the correct Zoom account

Recording Issues

  • Bot-free recording requires the desktop app
  • Ensure Amie has permission to capture system audio
  • Check Settings → Recording for audio device selection

Privacy

  • Amie only creates meeting links on your behalf
  • No meeting content is accessed through the Zoom integration
  • Recording is done locally on your device, not through Zoom's servers
