Overview

Amie combines your calendar and tasks in one view. Create todos, schedule them on your calendar, and let AI find the perfect time slots.

Creating Tasks

Quick Entry

Press Enter in the todo panel to create a new task.

Quick Menu

Press ⌘+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux) and type your task.

Natural Language

Amie understands natural language:

  • "Call mom tomorrow 3pm for 30 min"
  • "Review proposal Friday morning"
  • "Team standup every weekday at 9am"
  • "Email report to Sarah by end of week"

Task Properties

Setting Priorities

Use priority levels to organize importance:

  • P1 (High) — AI schedules these first
  • P2 (Normal) — Standard priority

Press P on a selected task to change priority.

Adding Labels

Labels help categorize across lists:

  1. Select a task
  2. Press L or click the label icon
  3. Choose existing or create new label

Calendar Integration

Scheduled Todos

When you schedule a todo, it appears as a block on your calendar:

  • Visual time block for the task
  • Drag and drop to reschedule
  • Resize to change duration

Drag and Drop

Move tasks directly on your calendar:

  1. Drag a todo from the inbox
  2. Drop on a time slot
  3. Task is now scheduled

Todo Views

Inbox

Your central hub for all unscheduled todos:

  • Press I to switch to Inbox
  • See all tasks awaiting scheduling
  • Quick access to priorities

Calendar View

See scheduled todos alongside events:

  • Press C to switch to Calendar
  • Tasks appear as colored blocks
  • Visual timeline of your day

Lists & Projects

Organize todos into lists:

Creating Lists

  1. Click + New List in the sidebar
  2. Name your list
  3. Drag todos to organize

List Features

  • Unlimited lists on all plans
  • Custom colors per list
  • Preferred times for AI scheduling
  • Archive completed lists

Cross-List Labels

Labels work across all lists for flexible organization.

Recurring Tasks

Create tasks that repeat automatically:

  • Daily
  • Weekly (specific days)
  • Monthly (specific dates)
  • Custom intervals

  1. Create or edit a task
  2. Click the recurrence icon
  3. Choose your pattern
  4. Task repeats automatically

Integration with Meetings

Action Items to Todos

Meeting action items can become todos:

  1. Open meeting notes
  2. Find an action item
  3. Click Add to Todos
  4. Task appears in your inbox

Meeting Prep Tasks

Create prep tasks for upcoming meetings:

  • "Prepare slides for Monday standup"
  • "Review John's proposal before 2pm meeting"

AI Scheduling

Let AI schedule your unscheduled todos:

  1. Create todos with optional duration/deadline
  2. Enable AI Scheduling
  3. AI finds gaps in your calendar
  4. Todos are placed optimally

Tips & Best Practices

Start with Duration

Adding duration helps AI schedule effectively:

  • "30 min review" schedules better than just "review"
  • Default duration applies if not specified

Use Deadlines

Set deadlines for time-sensitive tasks:

  • AI prioritizes deadline tasks
  • Visual indicators show urgency

Morning Planning

Review your inbox each morning:

  1. Press I for Inbox
  2. Prioritize with P1/P2
  3. Let AI schedule or drag manually

Troubleshooting

Task Not Saving

  • Check your internet connection
  • Try refreshing the page
  • Tasks auto-save—wait a moment

Recurrence Not Working

  • Verify the pattern is set correctly
  • Check the start date
  • Ensure the list isn't archived
